Game night, wherever you are.
Ibile Hub started with a simple complaint: the games people actually play at home were scattered across a dozen ad-stuffed apps, or missing entirely. So we put 38 of them in one place, and built them properly.
Why a cowrie.
Across West Africa the cowrie shell was money, and it was also the counter you played with. Our seal puts one at the centre, ringed by the four colours of the table.
In the app, cowries are what you earn by playing: from your daily reward, from missions and from wins. You spend them in the store or gift them to friends. They were never cash, and in Ibile Hub they still aren't.
What we won't compromise on.
Real rules
Ayò, Bao, Morabaraba and Fanorona are played with their actual rules, and the computer opponents play them properly at every level.
Built for the phone in your hand
An entry-level Android on patchy data is the phone we design for. Practice games work offline, and a dropped connection doesn't end an online game.
One table
One account, one set of friends and one wallet, whichever game you open.
Fair play
No boosters in ranked matches, prices stated plainly, and nothing that pays out cash. Limits and breaks are built into the app.
Who's building it.
Ibile Hub is led by Babatunde Hassan, a technical founder whose career has sat where consumer software meets payments and infrastructure.
- Mango Zest Labs: founder, AI-native infrastructure
- Interstellar: engineering and technical programme management, fintech and blockchain payments
- Loblaw: engineering at scale at Canada's largest retailer
We're hiring the founding game, growth and engineering team. See open roles.
Lagos first, then further.
We open in Lagos, where our players already are, then move across West and East Africa, and to everyone abroad who misses a proper game of Whot.
Get a seat at the table.
Ibile Hub opens in Lagos first, on Android, iPhone and the web. Leave your email and we’ll tell you the day it does.
